Wednesday Night Dinner - Please Register

Thank you to all of those who volunteered to assist with the dinner on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 6 p.m. Mike York will be in touch with those of you who reached out to provide the next steps and details. If you are still interested in participating, we could still use an extra set of hands for setup and tear down, but we have the food well-sorted. Please reach out to Mike directly at myork21785@gmail.com or 443-604-0774.

If you are planning to attend the dinner, please register here and let us know how many from your family will be attending. There will also be a sign-up sheet on the Welcome Desk at the church if you would rather add your name there.

We are looking forward to this great time of fellowship and breaking bread together. As a reminder, this is not a potluck dinner. This meal is being provided by a small group of volunteers and the church.

Mike York is planning to re-launch a regular cadence of Wednesday night fellowship dinners for Valley members and guests. This would not be a potluck-style dinner, but rather a prepared meal provided by a group of volunteers to serve all those who wish to fellowship once a month and break bread together. For this to happen, he needs a little help. We are looking for volunteers to help with set up, tear down, or providing side dishes to supplement the main course. The first of these dinners will take place on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024.

If you are interested in participating in this opportunity in any of the above capacities, please reach out to Mike at myork21785@gmail.com or 443-604-0774 no later than March 17th, 2024.

Fridays At Valley https://www.valleybaptistchurch.org/blog/post/fridays-at-valley https://www.valleybaptistchurch.org/blog/post/fridays-at-valley#comments Mon, 11 Mar 2024 12:00:00 -0400 https://www.valleybaptistchurch.org/blog/post/fridays-at-valley

Friday nights have become an amazing time of outreach at Valley Baptist Church.  People have come as a result of the "Open to All Volleyball" announcement on our sign on York Road.  Friends continue to invite friends, and the college students are coming in larger numbers.  Some of the college students are now experimenting with a worship time that evening as well.

Please pray for the weekly event and participate in any way that you'd like.  Here's the weekly schedule:
6:30 p.m. Youth Group for Grades 6-9 (until 9 p.m.)
7:30 p.m. Contemporary Worship
8:00 p.m. Volleyball and Other Games

Pray that The Lord would bring about a true harvest of life change as we seek to share the good news about His Son!

ACTC Thanksgiving Bag Collection https://www.valleybaptistchurch.org/blog/post/actc-thanksgiving-bag-collection https://www.valleybaptistchurch.org/blog/post/actc-thanksgiving-bag-collection#comments Tue, 17 Oct 2023 12:00:00 -0400 https://www.valleybaptistchurch.org/blog/post/actc-thanksgiving-bag-collection

Valley will once again be collecting Thanksgiving Bags in partnership with the Assistance Center of Towson Churches.  ACTC collects all these bags and then provides distribution to local families who are in need of food for Thanksgiving.  You can use the shopping list/bag checklist to complete a full bag or you can donate any items on the list and they will be used to make full bags.  There are some local stores that will have prepacked bags ready and you can also just donate funds if that is better for you.  They will use those funds to shop for more bags to distribute.  Please have all donations turned in to Valley by Sunday, November 12th.

Every year, the Graffiti Church in Baltimore hosts an outdoor Easter Carnival with games, food, and a presentation of the story of Jesus.  For years, the Grace Life Collegiate ministries have helped, and last year, a number of us went from Valley Baptist Church to lead some of the games for children.  This year, the Graffiti Church has asked if a few members from Valley Baptist could act out a scene from the story of Jesus' death and resurrection.  If you would like to help or get more information, see Pastor Mike or send a note to the church office.  Let's pray and participate in this outreach with one of our Easter Offering missions.  The carnival will be held on Saturday, April 1st, from 12-3 p.m.

ACTC Thanksgiving Baskets https://www.valleybaptistchurch.org/blog/post/actc-thanksgiving-baskets https://www.valleybaptistchurch.org/blog/post/actc-thanksgiving-baskets#comments Tue, 08 Nov 2022 09:00:00 -0500 https://www.valleybaptistchurch.org/blog/post/actc-thanksgiving-baskets

It is time to begin our planning for ACTC’s annual Thanksgiving Basket Project. Each year, we partner with ACTC to reach out to our community by providing food baskets to families in need. The combined efforts of the Towson community and our supporting churches have always been magnificent. Last year these efforts benefited 3,000 families in Baltimore County and City.  They expect to have an even greater demand this year.  Once again we will be participating in this collection.  There is a list of needed items along with instructions for packing as well as a checklist to include on the outside of each bag to help with the processing and completing on ACTC's end.  The forms have an address to deliver to, but you can bring them to church and leave them here as long as they are at church by Sunday, November 13th.

ACTC is also looking for volunteers to help prepare and hand out the baskets on November 16-18 and 21-22.  If you are interested in helping, please email them at actc316@gmail.com or see their sign-up website.
